My projects layer research and close looking at Maine's paid and unpaid workers, past and present environment, and community histories. Maine products (paper, charcoal, Hathaway shirts,) land (mud, plants,) and water are used both as subject and media in interactive classes and public installations. I use teaching and public commissions to create a hands-on experience to challenge expectations and enlarge our assumptions about art by inviting participants and viewers to create, alter, erase, wash, or walk on work.
